Inspired by the Boston Mountains and woodlands of the southern Ozarks, Wood Land provides a viable, affordable, and meaningful place to live and work while reflecting the local context of Northwest Arkansas.
Wood Land draws concepts from its surrounding habit like the indigenous Maple-Leaf Oak that covers the rural landscape. Like the wooded landscape of this area, this master plan offers a variation in height and form that enlivens the community and creates a sense of place. This design also draws from the architectural vernacular of the area using cedar and cypress to clad the buildings, along with other locally sourced wood products and materials, giving texture a depth to otherwise simple forms that house residents, offices, and retail.
